Held at a couple different venues between 1998 and 2006, X Fest in Pittsburgh featured dozens of great bands over the years. And after eight long years, X Fest came back to Pittsburgh in the form of two awesome shows at Stage AE on the North Shore. Last month’s X Fest I was a good show with the likes of Chevelle, Rise Against, Killswitch Engage and a few others. But X Fest II which was last Friday kinda, maybe, sorta kicked its butt…
This X Fest show was something special, as it marked the 25th anniversary of one of my favorite cassettes. That’s right, I have a Social Distortion cassette tape. Still works too. And by strange coincidence, Social Distortion just happened to be headlining the show. But not until four other acts took the stage and worked up the crowd to the point of “We want Social D!”
And before we get to photos of Social Distortion, just take a look at the galleries below. X Ambassadors and Drag the River were the first two acts on the stage. These two groups played a pair of killer sets while the fans continued to file into the venue. Reel Big Fish and Anti-Flag continued the party as the crowd continued to squeeze in and rock out.
There are also some photos of the awesome on-air personalities from the host station 105.9 the X. They broadcasted live on location all morning and afternoon, with live interviews with the show’s artists. They even took turns emceeing the event.
