Social Distortion – Part 2 (Showtime)

After finally having some time to sit down and sort through the memory card… I have finally come up with a few photos of last week’s Social Distortion show at Stage AE on Pittsburgh’s North Shore.

Being that this was my first time shooting a band from the pit with a photo pass, I don’t think it went bad at all. But, I’ll tell you one thing: Three songs is a VERY short time to shoot all of the shots you want to try to get.

There’s no time to chimp every shot, you can’t change lenses often and you definitely can’t go searching in your camera’s menu to change settings. You have to know your camera well enough to make adjustments without pulling it away from your eye. If you don’t, you’ll miss the shot. The only thing I would do differently now that it’s all over is, move around a bit more. I wound up with more shots of some band members than others.

Well.. The show absolutely rocked! It had been years since I’d seen them play. Let’s just hope they come back again soon. I’ll be ready.

Check out more shots of the concert here in this gallery.

Thanks again for looking,

Your first time in the pit with a photo pass? Well, I have to say, you did an awesome job! You’ve got some great photos in your Flickr photostream, so I thought you’d been doing this forever.

I remember the days when I was almost in a panic because I only had three songs. Now it seems like all day sometimes. You definitely get used to it and learn to adjust quickly. Good luck with it, and maybe I’ll see you around town one of these days!

Thank you so much Linda… That means a lot coming from someone as good as you. I think my next show will be Fuel at Altar Bar in the strip some time in September. nothing is definite yet though.

      Thanks again,
