Engagement: Marcie & Justin

Ok… So this post is about a recent engagement session that we had a couple of weeks ago. I had a blast photographing Marcie and Justin. We covered a lot of ground hitting a bunch of locations which we had planned out ahead of time. The couple was great to work with and they had a few ideas for some very cool shots. I wish every shoot could be this fun.

Another very cool part of this shoot was that I got to try out Nikon’s new D800. That camera is amazing for portraits and landscapes with its 36 megapixel full-frame sensor (gear talk). The files from this camera come out at such a high resolution that printing at 20″ x 30″ shouldn’t scare anybody. Talk about detail….

See, like I said the other day –  no band photos…  But there is a musician in there. Justin is the lead singer of the band Mercury. I have shot the band numerous times as well as doing the photography for the cover of their latest CD.

I thought that the iPhone idea was pretty cool. Credit for that one goes to the happy couple

Can you tell that they’re excited?

Thanks for the compliment Robin… In the final edit, the couple and I decided to rotate the phones slightly so they aren’t perfectly vertical…

Love your vivid colors and amazing detail. That D800 is one amazing machine. Great idea with the iPhones as well as the jumping photo…
