It’s that time of the year again. The 14th annual Art All Night will be held April 30th – May 1st. This year the event returns to the Iron City Brewery at 3340 Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh’s historic Lawrenceville.
Art All Night is a grassroots event staged by an all-volunteer crew. A joyful celebration of the arts and community, the show grows in popularity each year, bringing thousands of people from all over the region into Lawrenceville. In 2010 Art All Night Lawrenceville featured work by 1189 artists and was attended by over 12,000 guests. It’s a great time for people of all ages.
Thanks to a bunch of local sponsors Art All Night is absolutely free. Artists are free to submit one piece of art. There is no charge for admission. There will be free entertainment provided by a number of local performers including musicians, dancers and more. Food and refreshments are, well you guessed it… FREE!
Art All Night is partially to blame for my interest in selling some of my photographs as fine art prints. I submitted a photo at last year’s event and actually received a handful of requests to purchase the piece. I am glad that I’m a photographer and not a painter. I was able to sell the exact same thing to all seven people. Now I have to decide which photograph I want to submit, and in what form. I have it narrowed down to two photos, but the decision is still a difficult one. Come on down to this year’s Art All Night and see what I’ve chosen, as well as over a thousand other amazing works of art.
